“I understand that not moving forward with this anyway, but I think it is important that we still pass this to send a message,” Silver said.Ullner added, “I think it makes a statement to the council.” “Divesting from Israel on a large scale could contribute to the eradication of the world’s only Jewish state, which was founded as a country that is safe for Jewish people to inhabit without the fear of government attempting to kill them for merely being of Jewish descent,” the resolution states.
