fell ill from COVID-19, the company’s health and safety officer added the information to her Excel incident spreadsheet, where she kept records of employee trips, falls, and other accidents. Reality quickly set in: a spreadsheet couldn’t keep track of the 71 exposures that other employees had with those two colleagues, says Alan Murphy, head of HR operations for Bimeda.

, offered for free during the pandemic to organizations using Oracle Cloud Human Capital Management. The health and safety application can help companies record employees exposed to the virus, then work backward two weeks—the incubation period for COVID-19—to notify employees who had been in close contact with the infected workers.
