You underestimate DeSantis. If he defeats Trump in the primary (let’s hope) then he must have articulated a compelling rationale for his campaign. He would also deprive Biden/Harris of the most compelling force behind their ticket (“Defeat Trump”). Same for any GOP Trump-beater.
As with any election you must be better then the alternative. In this case the alternative only has to be better than an 82 year old Biden. The bar is pretty low.
