Now, the place that first introduced me to the racism endured by Alaska Natives is gone.

And it seems only right that the land left behind should be used to create a beautiful, peaceful space where we can all shop or stroll or live. And that space should be controlled by Alaska Natives because, given the number of Alaska Native people who died there, it is clearly their sacred space.

Yes. Anchorage is a really racist, white privileged city. The police departments treatment towards Alaska native folk that need help from said department, often times give little to none to people of color. Now they have no choice but to help, now that body cameras will be on.

Pretty sure this site started life as a TB asylum which was not exclusively for indigenous people. Another person who sees racism everywhere but forgets the historical roots of racism and slave culture, the Democratic party which dominated throughout the Southern United States.

It's not clear it's our sacred space... I drive by and have memories and reminisce, but let whoever owns it decide. This opinion piece seems like it's really trying hard to half-heartedly meet an anti-racism story quota.

Ahhh poor delicate things… 🤡🎪

What a ridiculous article. Any woman, by herself, SHOULD be concerned about a bathroom that allows another guest to access your room. Any woman, by herself, SHOULD be concerned about a group of men approaching her at night in a parking lot. Seems you are the one injecting race
