There’s no reasoning with racist trolls over 'House of Dragons' and “The Rings of Power.'

It’s almost a trope: A new interpretation, a reboot, a sequel or a prequel is planned and white fanboys spew outrage about a character who, in their minds, doesn’t look enough like white people. The most recent outrage overhas people asking what is at once the funniest question and the saddest one: Do Black elves exist?

A new interpretation, a reboot, a sequel or a prequel is planned and white fanboys spew outrage about a character who doesn’t look enough like white people. Joining angry"The Lord of the Rings" fans are viewers equally upset that the"Game of Thrones prequel," “The House of Dragon,” which, with its casting of Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon has disrupted their ideas of who ought to portray brave knights, elves, kings, queens and heroes. Black, brown and LGTBQ people appearing in heroic roles has ruined these imaginary fantasy worlds of magic and make-believe.

They’re flaming the shows online, whining about the creators’ original visions, and in so doing, reminding us that some of our fellow white Americans don’t think people who don’t look like them, or love who they love, belong — even in a pretend society. These are likely the same people who complained whenNever mind that Superman was never white. He’s a space alien from Krypton, people!

Whether it’s Stars Wars franchise actors Daisy Ridley and Asian American Kelly Marie Tran being attacked for not being Mark Hamill or Harrison Ford, or naysayers telling a Puerto Rican actor, “” in the"Lord of the Rings," such trolls typically try to hide their hatred by arguing that such casting dishonors the source material. But rarely have these casual racists actually read the source material.

Who are they appeasing? Why is racism even an issue where movies have to place ethnic groups simply to prevent accusations of said racism? It's a movie it shouldn't matter either way who the characters are unless they are chosen by racism!

I’m personally enraged about the beardless dwarves.

House of DRAGONS rules, RIM JOBs of power suck!

Just wait till they find out no one in the Bible was white. No one.

What the f%k is wrong with not liking a show!! Just because there are black actors they call you a racist!! Give me a break

It can be recalled that the purists for the science-fiction/fantasy genre were disgusted when it came to the artwork for the 3rd edition rules. The passage of dawn according to the coast of Hong Kong was that Deedlit Dahlia on an anime vibe for the Last Threshold was, 'Awesome!'

They can't help themselves.

Seen enough blk people already. Enough is enough. Don't wana see anymore. Give the people what they want

The media fueling this madness is worse than the dark lord Sauron himself. Thanks for trying to make the world a worse place.

NiamhIdealai May the Dragons and Hunger Games Odds get you, racist white people!

White people dont have an exclusive claim on the acting roles of elves and dwarfs. You might expect similarities among homogenous groups. But from a casting perspective theres no reason to so limit yourself or project. They still would have complained if all the dwarfs were black

That's cultural appropriation.

Race baiting as usual.... Maybe the show is just not up to scratch.

House of Dragons is quite good. Always with the racism silly media. Just go away.

Ohhh Lawd dem Rangz

I don't try. If I'm talking to someone who's got their panties in a bunch about fictional characters of fictional races in fictional places in a fictional story, I'm in the wrong place.

MSNBC has become People Magazine but they live in a fantasy world they think is news.

Those actors screened are probably my favourite of both series thou I love house of the dragon and think rings of power will get better. It dosent need to be everyone's cup of tea and it's not always about racsim.

kkk be cray, cray, cray😵‍💫🤬😵‍💫🤬

Is that Don Lemon Joy Reid and that racist dude from MSNBC?

Don't conflate the two, house of the dragons is ok. Ring of power is horse manure.

Cool, will u shut up then? It's simple: the lore of these shows are rooted in medieval Europe. Nothing you say will convince me that it's ok to have black elves, dwarves, or targaryens because I'm fully aware of the hypocritical piss fits you throw when it's reversed.

Why isn't wakanda more 'diverse?' Since that would automatically make it better according to you?

In good fantasy there is logical world building. It's what makes it good. It's why no one argued about it before all the racist liberals forced their own very racist fantasy world on everyone

It could also be because THEY DON'T RESPECT THE SOURCE MATERIAL. Why should our fun make believe worlds have to bow down to political correctness? Why can't they respect the lore and just use POC in established lore situations? Thats the issue.

Y’all shook over fantasy characters 😂
