From WSJopinion: Academia is more interested in virtue signaling and political activism than in figuring out how to replicate good policing, writes Robert Maranto

Wonder Land:"Systemic racism" is a systemic forgetting of 55 years of urban policy failure. Image: Scott Heins/Getty ImagesThere is plenty of blame to go around for the latest civil unrest, from police unions to political leaders. But don’t let academia off the hook. My fellow professors had years to figure out how to improve policing so that it better protects the lives and dignity of African-Americans. Few did so.

This became obvious to me at an academic conference in 2018. I was presenting a paper titled “We can do better: police professionalism and...

opinion Of course, blame the Academia. Not the student. Very smart.

opinion Of course. This has always been the case. Notice how the administration in most schools are white in the US? I'm talking deans, presidents, chancellors, etc. Academia is full of lazy snobs who cannot function properly in the real world

opinion From a fake news maker-opinion Politicians r more interested in fake news-making and political activism than in figuring out how to replicate good policing, writes Mr.Fake news on

opinion Might want to start with the police unions, Sparky

opinion Wait, I thought we were feckless intellectuals but now we’re supposed to solve your problem?

opinion And the WSJ scrapes the bottom of the blame barrel. It's not the policeman's fault. Some lefty professor wasnt there in his birkenstocks to write a journal article about why shooting unarmed people because your to lazy to run, or became enraged at the smallest noncompliance.

opinion Is it the job of Academics or the POLICE to creat and manage good policing? Seems to me the experts in policing are the POLICE and they should be working towards developing good policing models and stop blaming everyone else for their failures.

opinion 'Every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.” ~'1984' George Orwell

opinion For educated people, they aren’t that bright.

opinion They learned well from me.

opinion Absent correlation = waste of time

opinion If they separated America into 2 Countries. One would have no civilian guns, no borders,no prisons, a weak non-heirarchical militia, and tonnes of nonskilled and overeducated non-skilled workers.... they would have actors tho. Tell me how the f$%k a place like CHAZ works?

opinion No, Academia just wants to tear down America!!!!

opinion People need to go to trade schools, even for STEM. There's nothing that takes 4 years that you can't learn with a year of school plus work on the job, with the exception of may 1% of jobs.

opinion This is a capitalist country. Follow the money. Academia only cares about where to get funding. You want better research on improving police practices? Get funding ready and you can make these liberal professors write anything. It’s social science, not rocket science.

opinion Was the guy whining about virtue signaling wearing a MAGA hat, a cross, an NRA bumper sticker on his large pick-up truck and a flag-pin?

opinion Or how to teach and preserve the virtues and values of Western civilization

opinion Let's Negroes welcoming our Russian North ,we would like to them to go there. If they do that, they are colored in blue.Every nigger from the frost becoming blue.

opinion Those who can do and those who cant teach

opinion why can't they police from the ivy towers
