The use of fake crowd noise to a German Bundesliga broadcast on FS1 added to the feeling of the game, and made it that much better for the viewer.

What was different about the match on Sunday morning was that the broadcast has experimented with adding in fake crowd noise to make the game feel more natural.

It's a practice that's been discussed as a possibility for teams playing in empty stadiums, but has so far been avoided due to concerns that the pumped-in noise would feel artificial and silly.

No, it was better hearing the players chatter. Just think, we are always trying to 'be in the huddle' with microphones during timeouts and hearing QB audible. But now 'soccer is more exciting with fake sounds?' No. Give me the stripped down sounds of this new normal FOXSports

People will appreciate the attempt at keeping to normality, nobody wants to watch a usually quite active and loud broadcast be stone cold quiet.

I Envy These Bolivian Orchestra Members Quarantining in a German Castle With Ghosts, WolvesCurrently, I am trapped in a tiny apartment above a very loud taco shop with a roommate recuperating from unexpected shoulder surgery, surrounded by thousand empty cans of PBR. I would much prefer to be at Rheinsberg Palace in Germany, permanent home to ghosts and wolves, and now the temporary home of several dozen members of a Bolivian orchestra. That’s right—ghosts and wolves. The Joan Aiken novel of my dreams!
