Opinion: Democratic voters agree with Pelosi on impeachment

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler talks with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during a news conference. By Jennifer Rubin Jennifer Rubin Opinion writer covering politics and policy, foreign and domestic Email Bio Follow Opinion writer March 21 at 10:15 AM We know Republicans will fight tooth and nail for President Trump if Democrats try to impeach him. In somewhat of a surprise, however, one poll suggests that among the public, Democrats aren’t all that keen on the idea, either.

It’s not that Democrats think Trump hasn’t engaged in misconduct. They simply don’t want to impeach him. And most Americans still think special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation is important and worthwhile, compared with 38 percent who think it’s an effort to discredit Trump.

Not all of us!

And Pelosi thinks we should pass laws without reading them like she said and did with the Affordable Care Act. I don’t want leaders who pass bills without reading them.

Democrats can’t impeach Trump because it doesn’t apply to the constitution clause. .. Treason? He is actually trying to build a wall to protect our border & to tighten immigration laws, AND another hand Democrats are saying that ILLEGALS should vote..

A crook is a crook and Impeachment will show the next Republican to run, THERE ARE CONSEQUENCES, AND THAT NO ONE PERSON IS ABOVE THE LAW. They have lost sight of that , the Republican Party as a whole have lost sight of that

Humiliation of Trump would be sweet. To Impeach that smug little bastard for the crimes he has committed, all the while showing the Grahams, the Jordans, Nunez that their president was a crook. No better than any person in any prison.

I believe they must be the illegal ones because I know a lot of Democrats voters , that find anti constitutional Because it doesn’t apply to the clause. In that case why Hillary & Bill ? Haiti money.Obama? Treason team six, Benghazi etc, Hillary? Treason Benghazi and more

Yes, kick him off before he destroyed your whole country

It’s like the Dems are a lax parent who says they’re gonna count to three but keeps starting over and counting more slowly each time.

To impeach or not to impeach What say the latest polls? No evidence, just blind hate Our base wants blood to flow So lie, cheat and steal Are we Democrats or not? Preach tolerance with hatred Hell's cold when we get hot

Defeating Clinton in 2016 is not an impeachable offense.

Democrat voters for a soft coup, against using legal means to impeach

You think. What a novel idea to let the voters make the decision about removing realDonaldTrump ... it's called the 2020 election.

This is misleading. They aren't against impeaching Trump. They know that Republican Senators are feckless traitors and are afraid to act. There would be overwhelming support if the quest was 'Would you like to see Trump perp walked out of the White House.

This is bad news for the bulk of the Democratic field running in 2020. Trump should send Pelosi flowers as a thank you for her implied endorsement.

I don't like her decision, I would prefer him gone today. That said, impeaching him would only serve to make him a martyr in the eyes of his supporters and that would be a dangerous thing for the stability of our nation and safety of our citizens.

No we don't. We want Trump impeached, tried in the Senate, bounced from office, assets seized, publicly humiliated and imprisoned for the rest of his life.

We might as well wait for 2020, this is just news fluff at this point

CNN Poll: Support for impeachment falls among DemocratsSupport for impeaching President Trump has fallen 7 points since December, a CNN Poll finds. The decline — from 43% in favor in December to 36% now — stems largely from a change in Democratic support for impeachment, which has dipped 12%. That and there's nothing to impeach him for except MAGA 45 in the landslide! He's got plenty of rope to hang himself already. No need impeach. His life is so miserable now, he's gonna quit. Out of the blue, one of these days he will resign. My dogs are sure of it, and they are seldom wrong.

Beto O'Rourke on impeachment and 8 other issuesFormer Rep. Beto O’Rourke has begun to flesh out some of his policy ideas as he makes his way across Iowa, backing away from his support for full single-payer health care and declining to say whether President Trump should be impeached. No universal Healthcare.. No votes. You lost it. This guy doesn't actually stand for anything. It's all about starting conversations and 'talking' about issues. We need something more concrete than that. The Democrats have tried these milquetoast candidates before and it always ends in disappointment. Let's do better. Backing away and declining to say.
