Fair point about reason for requesting the President's tax return. The real reason should be that Congress has the authority to perform oversight on the President. That's why there's an impeachment process as opposed to the President being indictable while in office.
Bill of attainder? WSJ is a great newspaper but this is a dumb joke of an op-ed. Learn what a bill of attainder is and then it will naturally disappear from this debate. Hint: attainder is about declaring someone guilty of a crime without a trial.
