Only 18 states have made Juneteenth a state holiday

Because Juneteenth is not recognized as a holiday in a majority of states, many state employees across the country are not allowed to take a paid vacation day to observe the holiday, which celebrates the end of slavery in the U.S.two years earlier by the Emancipation Proclamation.

In the private sector, Juneteenth will be a paid holiday for about 30% of private employers in the country this year,

Why isn’t Election Day a federal holiday

This is not necessary. An official Holiday so soon after Memorial Day, which is the Official Holiday of those who died in Civil War is the official Holiday. To shut everything down again is ridiculous just because it took longer for News to get to distant Territory. Ludicrous.

Nothing happening now days is moving us forward as a people. We can have all of the Juneteenth's in the world and we will still be Black America. Stuck between civil rights era and George Floyd .
