I really enjoyed it but didn't find the new terminator's CG effects to look that much better than the liquid metal effect in T2, though I really liked the concept of the morphing skin being able to split away from its skeleton.

it is almost 30 years since there was a good Terminator movie. No one wanted this. Then on top of that they went total Disney Wars, going out of their way to destroy the first two movies while telling the exact same story with new characters. Of course it has tanked.
CGI monsters can't hold a candle to the Komatsu Excavator. It can easily eat up a 3 story building. They are demolishing the Avon facility in Pasadena with 2 of them.

Just saw it! Terminator was FABULOUS! Plenty of Sarah Connor, Arnold, and new character of Grace was Ah-mazing. I loved the storyline (Dani) and the dialogue was superb.
Because they undid the central plot of every other Terminator film, even the good ones (1 & 2)
Yes it def has nothing to do with a lame story, horrible use of the original actors, the fact John Connor is killed in a pre-credits sequence completely invalidating the far-superior T2 or the intro of two lame female protagonists no one could relate to one bit.

Sorry it has nothing to do with the way we relate to machines. This sequel sidelined a great story for the sake of an agenda. And, really, pushing an agenda is fine, but in this case, it took the fun right out of the flick.
Because there were three other (incredibly disappointing) films in the franchise and people were just worn out. I will give kudos to Skydance for bringing Jim back into the fold and both for getting Linda back... sounds like Tim made a decent film... but public trust was gone.
