One officer was charged with 'wanton endangerment' in the Breonna Taylor case

t police in general don’t feel supported by the administration and with Mattingly, the only officer injured in the shooting, complaining in an email this week that city officials, including the mayor and former Louisville Metro Police Chief Steve Conrad failed “all of us in epic proportions for their own gain and to cover their asses.

Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, said he did not know it was the police and feared a home invasion. He said he fired one shot, which hit Mattingly in the leg, which was followed by a fusillade from police. Taylor was struck at least five times. In the initial police department news conference following the shooting, Taylor’s name was not mentioned and police focused more on the injury to Mattingly than on Taylor’s death.
