Draper Draper on Oct. 17, 2023. One person was killed while another was critically injured after a hang glider collided with a paraglider mid-air in Draper.
Lt. Mike Elkins with Draper City police said they responded just after 5 p.m. on Tuesday to a mid-air collision at Draper Point of the Mountain in Salt Lake County Flight Park located at 15300 South and Steep Mountain Drive. Elkins said the incident involved a tandem paraglider carrying a male and female who were hit by a nearby hang glider.Elkins said the male, identified as an experienced paraglider Joshua Ellison, 44 years old, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
