After an outstanding season that saw Ariton become back to back state champions, Lawson has decided to take his talents to Wallace College.

The Purple Cats bounce back from Wednesday's Game 1 loss to get the 6-1 and 11-6 wins over Mars Hill to secure back-to-back 2A baseball crowns.ARITON, Ala. - What a special summer day it was for Ariton Baseball’s Lawson Leger and the Purple Cats community.

As a senior, Leger finished his high school baseball career with a team high in home runs and runs batted in. He totaled 114 runs and 92 runs batter in for his career. Leger said it was a no brainer choosing Wallace since it was so close to home. “It’s always been a goal of mine to have a signing day in front of my school. I’ve been keeping up with Wallace’s program and they are one of the top premiere JUCI’s around here” said Leger.and receive the latest local news and weather straight to your email every morning.
