The old site of the Luling Buc-ee's was up in flames Monday as Caldwell County officials assured fans that the newly opened travel center next door was left unharmed. Fire crews responded to a structural fire at Interstate 10 and Highway 138 on Monday at the former Luling Buc-ee's, according to the Caldwell County Office of Emergency Management and Guadalupe County Fire Rescue .
Officials were quick to debunk the false reports. 'Despite the sign and some information you may have seen, the fire is NOT the new Buc-ee’s travel stop,' said the Caldwell County Office of Emergency Management on social media. Firefighters extinguished the fire and are cleaning up the scene, officials said. They initially warned drivers to avoid the area, but now say it's safe to proceed with caution.
