We’ll find out at 1 p.m. Monday whether Ohio State has landed Carnell Tate.

A five-star wide receiver from IMG Academy, Tate has long been one of Ohio State’s premier targets in the 2023 recruiting class. While Tennessee has made a serious push to land Tate in recent months, the Buckeyes have always been at the forefront of his recruitment and still appear to be well-positioned to receive his commitment now that his recruitment is coming to a close.

Tate originally planned to make his college decision last fall, at which point Notre Dame was Ohio State’s top competition to land the 2023 class’, but Tate opted to take his recruitment into this summer. That allowed Tennessee and LSU to enter the race for the Chicago native. When Tate makes his announcement on Monday, however, it’s expected that either Ohio State or Tennessee will be his choice, as Brian Hartline looks to add yet another five-star wide receiver while the Volunteers look to add a premier pass-catcher to pair with five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava.
