Yost captured his title despite finishing just third in the prelims, scoring 375 points as Henninger led the field with 386.85. That third-place spot was more than enough to earn him one of the eight championship-round slots, however. A fifth-year senior, Yost concluded his decorated Ohio State career with the repeat championship. After capturing his first national championship, he was the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America's Diver of the Year in 2023.

His classroom accolades have matched those he's obtained in the pool. He was the 2023 Arthur Ashe Jr. Male Sports Scholar of the Year, selected out of over 1,000 nominees nationally. Yost will now hope to parlay his college success into a spot on Team USA for the 2024 Summer Olympics.
