Gov. Mike DeWine of Ohio announced late Thursday that he had tested negative for coronavirus, only hours after he had tested positive on the day President Donald Trump was set to touch down in the state and meet with him.
The statement revealed that DeWine, whose response to the pandemic had been widely praised, was asymptomatic but would return to Columbus, Ohio, where he would be tested again, and then quarantine at his home in Cedarville, Ohio, for the next two weeks. The announcement of the second, negative test came several hours later.
