A spokesman for the park district said this week the two entities are “collaborating to deliver contingency options to open” the center in some capacity.The Fox Valley Park District announced earlier this year it could not open the Phillips Park Family Aquatic Center on the East Side of Aurora because of lack of staffing, particularly lifeguards.
In Plan A, the facility would be open fully, seven days a week, seven hours each day. That would require 106 total staff members. In Plan C, the center would be open for three days a week, five hours each day. That would take a staff of 37, according to officials.For any of the scenarios, job postings have been up since May 19 and will stay up through June 5.
