CLEVELAND, Ohio— An off-duty Cleveland police officer was shot and killed Friday night during a carjacking, according to five law enforcement sources.
The off-duty officer fought back against the robbers and was shot, the sources said. An ambulance took the officer to Fairview Hospital, where he died. A 27-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint about 4:25 p.m. Dec. 25 in the same area as Friday’s carjacking and shooting, according to city records.
