Ewan McGregor thinks fans will like Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+. He said, 'I’m not going to give away anything else about the storyline, only I think it’s really going to satisfy Star Wars fans.'

Obi-Wan Kenobi star Ewan McGregor says the newest Disney+ Star Wars streaming show is"really going to satisfy" fans. After first playing the character in 1999’s The Phantom Menace, McGregor is set to return to the Star Wars universe as famed Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Of course Kenobi was originally played on the big screen by Alec Guinness in the first blockbuster 1978 Star Wars. But while Guinness played Kenobi as a wise old wizard, McGregor played him in the Star Wars prequels as a young and action-oriented Jedi Knight rocketing around the galaxy for rollicking sci-fi adventures with his moody sidekick Anakin Skywalker.

"I’m not going to give away anything else about the storyline, only I think it’s really going to satisfy Star Wars fans. I always felt there was a story between Episode III where I finished playing Obi-Wan in the movies and Episode IV where Alec Guinness is Obi-Wan Kenobi. The [Obi-Wan Kenobi series] writers and Deb [Chow] and I and everyone, I think we crafted or they crafted a very fine storyline. I think people are going to like it.

What exactly that fan-satisfying storyline entails is at this point still veiled in secrecy of course. Indeed, Obi-Wan Kenobi remains such a mystery that there isn’t even a proper trailer and a poster showing McGregor’s Kenobi was only just released – and still kept Kenobi himself in the distance, preserving the show’s mystique.

Seeing Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin/Vader fight on-screen again would indeed satisfy a lot of Star Wars fans. But there’s just as large a segment of the fanbase that might actually resent the idea of Obi-Wan Kenobi going back to that well again after so many years of lightsaber duels.

It’s not like he would say it will be crap. Pretty sure he’d be aware of the entitlement that some fans have wrt to SW.

Which ones? There’s almost literally hundreds of subsections of fans.

It will satisfy half, the other half will complain

their only aim at this point i guess

Until they watch it and complain after like the toxic fans do.

Appearently McGregor doesn’t know Star Wars fans are the worst and complain and hate everything that’s not the original trilogy.

Yeah its gonna be rad
