OAKLAND — A man was charged with murder Tuesday in the Sunday morning fatal shooting of his older brother in East Oakland, according to authorities and court documents.
Roni Jacinto, 19, is charged in the death of Enrique Jacinto-Vicente, 20, who was fatally shot just after 4 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Seventh Avenue and East 19th Street. In addition to the murder count, he was charged with carrying a loaded firearm in a city. The brothers and some other people were hanging out at the intersection, which is near where the victim lived, authorities said. The suspect lives in another part of East Oakland.
The brothers got into an argument and a struggle before the shooting, police said. What the argument was about has not been determined.Jacinto was identified by witnesses as the suspect and was arrested Monday near his home. He made some partial admissions and told police he discarded the gun in a gutter somewhere in East Oakland after the shooting, according to court documents.
