The New York Police Department’s Internal Affairs Bureau is probing an active member in connection with last week’s riot in Washington, D.C., whereafter Trump supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol, Commissioner Dermot Shea said in a television interview on NY1 on Monday.
Mr. Shea said he learned of the probe on Sunday night. He didn’t identify the person under investigation. “There is no name yet released because we don’t know yet if it’s true or not,” Mr. Shea said. “But I can tell you that anyone committing crimes certainly would have a very short shelf life with the NYPD.”

On the one hand, great to see the NYPD being on the ball about this and doing their jobs. On the other hand: 'Anyone committing crimes certainly would have a very short shelf life with the NYPD.' ...would they though? Would they really?
