New York City's mayor exempted athletes and performers from the city’s vaccine mandate. Several public employees unions whose members were fired for refusing the shots blasted Adams for apparently lifting the rule only for wealthy and famous athletes.

FILE - Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving , who is not permitted to play games in New York because he's unvaccinated for COVID-19, drives against Orlando Magic guard R.J. Hampton during an NBA basketball game on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, in Orlando, Fla.

The exemption is effective immediately. One of the first beneficiaries will be Irving, a vaccine holdout who was allowed to rejoin the Nets in January but only when they played out of town games. The Nets need him as they push for a playoff spot with nine games left in their regular season. “By putting our home teams on equal playing field, we increase their chances of winning and that has a real impact on our city,” he said.“There can’t be one system for the elite and another for the essential workers of our city," said Harry Nespoli, chair of the Municipal Labor Committee, an umbrella group of unions that together represent about 350,000 city workers.

The city last month fired more than 1,400 workers who failed to comply with the vaccine mandate. Adams said Thursday that he had no plans at this time to rehire those workers. “#VaccinesWork … unless you’re rich and powerful, in which case, #LobbyingWorks,” Varma said. He added: “The #KyrieCarveOut opens City up to entire scheme being voided by courts as “‘arbitrary and capricious.’”

Meanwhile the middle class workers were fired with no unemployment benefits...way to go Democrats!!!

Which is indeed what he did.

It’s all about money…..for the rich.

Of course the Democrats don’t care about working families, only the rich.

Follow the money! He got $1m campaign donation from the Mets owner. This makes zero since unless you're corrupt. When will New Yorkers wake up and understand Dem leaders are all corrupt and all about the power and money, not the people!

Of course he did...why get the backbone of our country moving again..NYC continues to get it wrong..HOW?
