An NYPD survey has so far identified more than 1,300 shops suspected to be selling cannabis and tobacco products illegally across the five boroughs, NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell said. But some members of the City Council lamented that the raided shops remain open and appear to be selling the same products. They urged the city to do more. Some raised concerns that the shops were opening near schools and marketing and selling to minors. Others worried that the products being sold were unsafe for consumers.
Such a waste of police resources. Either enforce with a heavy handed deterrent...or let it go. Otherwise shit will be at every corner store and bodega....
