The full City Council is in session Thursday for its scheduled stated meeting. Here are a few items of interest on the agenda:by Councilmember Lincoln Restler is expected to go up for a vote, which would prohibit employment agreements from shortening the window of time for employees to file claims about workplace discrimination, harassment or violence. Workers currently have one year to file claims about discrimination, and three years to file claims about gender-based harassment.
The bills are expected to be voted out of committee Thursday morning and head to the full Council for a vote., first reported by Gothamist, that would mandate the city make a dashboard of vacant supportive housing units, forcing more transparency and accountability around the program that provides subsidized housing for people who are homeless, struggling with substance abuse, mental health issues or were formerly incarcerated.
