When reached for comment by The National Desk , a NYCDS spokesperson said the organization was aware of Ruiz’s actions. “It has come to our attention that one of our attorneys, Victoria Ruiz, recently attended a public vigil solely in her capacity as a private citizen,” the spokesperson said. “Some of her actions at the event have drawn sharp criticism and we strongly condemn them as highly insensitive.”“Ms. Ruiz has apologized to those who were hurt or confused by her actions,” the organization said.
A NYCDS spokesperson with knowledge of the situation also told TND that an investigation into Ruiz’s employment is ongoing, and claims that a final decision has been made on the matter are inaccurate. No one was available to speak further on the matter as of early Monday afternoon.The number of anti-Israel actions occurring in New York City are increasing as the war between Israel and Hamas terrorists continues.
