Okay but are they hurting anyone? Just let people enjoy things.

Who do you think is paying all the big money Disney is making, kids? No, adults. Too many people just can’t help staying in their lane. Go bully someone else, computer ninjas. You wouldn’t say a quarter of the things you type to someone’s face.

If it’s not hurting anyone, let people enjoy what they enjoy. Disney parks are very accommodating to people with disabilities who deserve to have fun too.

I also like theatre. Imagine being interested in amazing sets, costumes, performers, special effects, and catchy songs.

You could literally say the same thing about people that are obsessed with sports. It's literally just a hobby, not even a new one. Why do you think 'liking Disney stuff' is an alien concept?

Let us have fun plz

LAZY ASS JOURNALISM. repeating Tweet storms and Reddit wars as news, really? Is this what is becoming? What a letdown. DO BETTER. Here’s an article idea for you: the circle jerk between social media and regular media and how much dumber everyone is now, as a result.

These people have never spoken to a single football fanatic if they think adults who like Disney act like it's a religion

Go to The South any given Saturday and tell me what fandom is an actual religion.

what a stupid article. Disney Parks are a part of Americana, like our Natl Parks. and going to either costs money. Taking trips abroad costs a lot more than going to Disney parks, especially if one is a local.

Nothing wrong with that they’re having fun

Pretty disappointed with NPR for this

Meanwhile sports:

Real talk. Everyone's hobbies are stupid and pointless. Mine, yours, theirs, etc. But the fact that hobbies are stupid and pointless is what makes them enjoyable. Everything else is a matter of taste. If it doesn't harm others, live your best life.

“Phenomenon”? You mean lunacy?

Why? Total waste of time and money given the existence of NFL and Premier League adults. So glad I stopped contributing to your network years ago. And, so sad.

YEAH! They should be worshipping sportsball instead!

Nobody asked

But, why? You decided to cover fun-loving folk but literal fascists are trying to destroy democracy?

3 trips at $2,000 each? Pshh... Amateur.

Out of all the phenomenons going on today this is the one that warrants your attention…

Same type of fandom exists in sports teams, celebrities, etc. and in comparison to some other fandoms, the Disney community is not that bad.

Um, I like Disney theme parks. I have since I was a kid. No sure why that's a 'phenomenon.'

It's not complicated. We just enjoy good art, good storytelling, and fun vacations. This idea that Disney is just for kids and not the entire family is silly. It's no different than adult fans of any other thing whether it be fictional universes like Star Trek or sports or cars.

No one needs this nonsense. Replace all this with a sports team and it’s ok. But ‘Disney adults’ has become some sort of weird insult that most do not deserve. Let people enjoy things without making them feel like sideshow freaks. Which they are not.

Why does it bother you? Mind your business

This is such a tired piece of 'reporting' that I've already seen so many others discuss. Please focus on actual news and not random unimportant hit pieces on unthreatening, majority-neurodivergent people who are just trying to be happy. Feels more like bullying

How dare they do things with their own time and money.

Narrator: No, it's not.

davidfarrier I just listened to your podcast episode on this- NPR is behind 😉

There are many facets to Disney adults bc there are so many facets to the company. I get that not everyone gets it but you can really explore your interests in one concentrated company and see how that company incorporates that into other aspects of their operations.

What’s wrong with being a Disney adult? If they got the time and money to this, whooooooo cares ?

Would rather u be part of a Disney religion than the MAGA cult

Do Christians next.

Or they're just having fun.

DRonESPN [Winthrop] Also...thanks for the early morning laughs- you guys make a shitty commute much better.

I can't afford that religion

I dated one like that ... not for long ... and it was a bit different.

Not a whole lot different than obsessing over a sports team, band or hobby.

I think why I find it slightly disturbing is that it’s an obsession with a company. Like if they were fans of individual projects/subjects, that’s totally cool! But it seems like they hold all things “disney” in unreasonable reverence.

I can't 😂

NPR is a religion to some folks. Church of NPR. Y’all even ask for money like preachers do. That never occurred to you?

Religion/ cult same thing

Well crap

Come on NPR… You can do better than this.

I just read about “SEA” and what was it, Club 32 or something. Wild!

Okay… how exactly is this different from, say, Deadheads?

Pretty sure they are called pedophiles.

Just leave them alone people.

I just got to go to Disney World in 2019 right b4 the lock down and I had no idea what I was missing out on my whole life. We never went on expensive vacations in my house. I have gone back to Orlando twice since and going again in October. It's fun to escape the real world.

How is this a phenomenon? Disney knows where the money is

Yea and a lot are GOP so what a quandary

Naw...Disney fans don't condemn people for...anything. That's religion's job.

Loser religion mental illness

“It’s like a religion” No. No, it’s not.

Phenomenon? No.... It's an Egregore over the mind of weak Men and Women...

It’s not like a religion. It is a religion.

Pinnacle of cringe

Rather see people in the cult of Disney that the cult of MAGA, Patriot Front or Proud Boy.

I'd rather be into something than into nothing. I'd also rather not judge other people's fun when my own fun is probably just as ridiculous under a different light.

Nothing more cringey.

Also known as pedophiles

I work with a guy who owns a timeshare at Disney. He & his wife are 50, no kids. They go 4 times a year. Never been anywhere else in the world. They’re happy🤷‍♀️

BoycottDisneyFlorida

🤮

It's called being immature & needing to grow up or in need of a psychological evaluation. :) smh

Or a cult.

We just like fun, DAMN

Like this tweet if Disney Adults should be forced to to do hard labour until they grow up

It's another denomination of the Church of Leftism

NPR Cookie Consent and ChoicesWhy don't you 'journalists' report on actual peer reviewed studies regarding masks, lock downs and the jab efficacy? Oh that's right. You're state sponsored propaganda. Read the comments i think it's over for your narrative. It’s my understanding that some people with poor health will have C19 several times. I had polio back in the 1950s and have health issues due to the polio and have had C19 several times. It is life at this time. One doesn’t cry about. Just deals with it. ;) AJY Cuz it's the flu. Mask up (n95 at no closer than 6ft) don't go around other people. The vaccine didn't work because it's from the older version of covid and even then it didn't work .

NPR Cookie Consent and Choices😛🤣 They’re creating dependent, unstable and a needy culture. Destined for easy failure. Well a lot of their most interesting teachers; those that connected with them as people and aren't just doing the job for perks and holidays also got removed from the equation for being critical and free thinkers. Give them their 'real' teachers back and not the WEF arse kissers.
