Under the federal Sentencing Guidelines, a 2 or 4 level enhancement for wearing or using body armor during an offense can be applied. Hardly ever used but I bet prosecutors will become more aware. No comment on whether this is effective deterrent/ punishment

Given the increase likelihood of being shot in pdx while doing mundane activities, restricting armor(or making it illegal) would damn near be a human right violation. Police have high powered tools that go through standard vests. If all else fails, go for the head or legs.

I wear body armor because it's cheap insurance. It'll help prevent injury in an accident and going to the doctor is expensive.
