What do China, Saudi Arabia and Qatar have in common? All three countries are accused of human rights violations, and all three are also playing host to some of the largest and most lucrative sporting events in the world.

let's work and fix this broken system

our system is so broken

fix this broken system of human rights

Is this a surprise?

I thought that the common thing is; all three are shameless authoritarian regimes

《滥竽充数》🥃

That should read excessive violations. Humans tend to abuse rights given them and must be regulated.

Apparently human rights violations won't stop US from selling billions of weapons to 2 of the 3 countries mentioned, cause you know, arms deals are way more lucrative than hosting some stupid games.

So what? The US has violated more human rights than the other three combined, and always plays host to some of the largest and most lucrative sporting events in the world. So why does NPR leave out that relevant statistic?

Yeah and there's nothing we can do about it. Boycotts do absolutely nothing. If we want change to happen, it had to come from within those countries in question.

Like the US is innocent

Add US, Russia, and all other countries to the list

The world would be a better place if the players didn't kneel. They are only hurting the American people.

NPR Cookie Consent and ChoicesLucid actually looks way cooler than Tesla. But that's also because they're top of the line luxurious. $70k for a truck, and $170k for a car? No thanks. My next car will be a used Honda Civic, hopefully one that gets more than 40 mpg. $10k, tops. 'Worth' more? Don't confuse a bloated valuation with actual value. One autopilot disaster or exploding battery and that stock price could come back down to Earth right quick.
