As horrible as it is to contemplate could someone have sabotaged the prop for some insane reason?
Clearly it wasn’t a blank if it fired a live round.. how can Hollywood make countless military reenactment movies without having live rounds on set buuuut this stuff still happens? And why did Baldwin shoot the cinematographer in between sets? Like why’d he point & shoot?
Poor man. I can't imagine how his conscience must reeling from the tragic accident.

This should not be difficult: There are people in charge of the props, the functioning, and the consequences of their use. Accidents happen, but they are always the result of human action (or the lack of it).
Is there any truth to reports that union-affiliated production crew walked off before the shooting happened because of safety and other issues?
I thought a prop gun was supposed to be fake.
It’s not a shooting, it was an accident with a film prop. Anyone who’s ever worked on a film set understands this. Alec wasn’t walking around the set targeting his crew with a real gun filled with real bullets. HUGE DIFFERENCE.

Horrible accident and a reminder rules 1 &2 applies to all firearms (stunt, air rifles or real): 1) Treat all guns as though they are loaded. 2) Do not point at anything you don't intend to shoot.

The fact that guns that are able to do this are used on movie sets is just wrong. It's a movie. It can be made of rubber and look reaslistic. We have enough we are able to do in post now that we don't need anything close to being a real gun in an actor's hand on a movie set.
