'Just as toilet paper and paper towels are provided in virtually every public bathrooms, so should menstrual products,' said Democratic Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia, the bill's sponsor.

If men had periods they’d be available ✔️👀

Used to be. Well maybe they cost a nickel. Definitely available was the super thick maxi pad. Remember the elastic belts they passed out for these to attach to? Lol. Damn I feel old.

Is this really tweet-worthy

Can we also get Q-tips too?

'It's not free it's coming from your paycheck!' No shit and if $10 from each paycheck can help a young person with their period I am happy to do it instead of one more Nighthawk development that will be scraped after 4 trillion is sunk into it.

In men's rooms as well? We need to make public restrooms generic. Outdated term, anyway. It's about performing a biological function in private and comfort.

Loadem up, mens too. You know how much a tampon can soak up. Think about it. Benefits everyone!

Of course it should be provided. One is REQUIRED to be at school, it's not an elective activity. If they're gonna MAKE you be there, then they have a responsibility to ensure that you're fed and reasonably clean and healthy while you're there.

Why is this not already a thing? I have a teenage daughter who started at the age of 9! She was embarrassed, depressed and scared with no one to really help until we came to get her and give her what she needed! It's a no brainer here..

I’d rather my taxes help provide tampons and pads for schoolgirls than help boost corporate tax breaks

I would like to give some perspective, in many developing nations toilet paper is not provided, you can buy it from people sitting nearby. In the us we take this for granted because we've always had it. I think it makes sense, i don't want to bring my own toilet paper everywhere

Oh I'm just waiting for the Evangelicals to chime in with 'but those are demon penises and you need to provide pads too so my daughter remains a virgin!'🙄

Ewww grossssss, lol

Why does this take so long

Can we end sales tax on them, diapers and baby wipes while we're at it too?

What do the men get free?

How about prisons!

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I can't believe in 2021 we're not doing this everywhere. And yes, misers, I know it costs money. I'm willing to pay an extra buck on my school taxes to make sure people who need menstrual products in school have them.

We have to get rid of the 'luxury' tax on feminine hygiene products before we can even begin to address this.

Anubis2814 Yes absolutely 💯

I will always tell you about markdonaldlisaT she's one in a million I make money from home despite the world pandemic inbox her to know more about crypto trade offers.

Short memory theater here. This has been done before. Give it a few months of operation and then listen for the whining about the tampon machines always being empty.

Ok. What do common sense folks think is gonna happen? That’s right, this too will be ravaged & abused. Some women will take all that’s available & use it to supplement nails & a wig. Just stop it already. Democrats will dangle carrots forever

First thought, bleach and asbestos

They need to keep them in the nurse's office or else people will just steal them.

Many girls that age don't use tampons.

I started a petition for this in the mid-'90s. Glad to see it's finally happening.

Sure, men’s bathrooms need tampons. Are you people mental?

I know if men bled from their dicks every month these products would be free.

Eww

I don't agree....

this is terrible news

Diapers should be free or affordable too

NPR Cookie Consent and ChoicesBetter mandate the flu shot then, right I haven't had the flu in over 25 years. Some experts feel... I am pretty sure you could find some experts that believe just about anything. My grandmother was an expert in gardening, and she believed toads were from space.

NPR Cookie Consent and ChoicesBishopNaomi Our school district is not following that guidance. My kid (who is only unvaccinated because he’s too young) was a “close contact” and they put him on “modified quarantine,” which is just testing 2x/week. The anti-vax and anti-mask crowd aren't helping kids learn since switching from remote/in-class/remote/in-class... is worse than just going remote. Moreover, kids are being hospitalized in FL at a very high rate - jeopardizing many kids' lives and futures with LongCovid. We need a federally funded online/virtual option asap + Schools need some of the home tests potus purchased this week + We need the federal government to ship better masks (n/kn95’s or kn94’s) to everyone in a K-12 building + HEPA air filters in all classes
