NPR Cookie Consent and ChoicesThis is a smart move. Require ID, then put all necessary money behind getting everyone an ID card. It will be expensive, but if it moves the ball down the field, it's well worth it. Nothing will placate crybaby GOP voters. Except for limiting the vote to white male landowners. Many people eligible to vote don’t have ID and/or find it difficult to get. Disproportionately it will impact minority communities, elderly, homeless, etc and others that the GOP hope to keep away from the polls. My elderly mother didn’t have legit ID after she gave up driving.
