Remember white people, on Juneteenth you’re require to confess your racism and white privilege:

Juneteenth celebrates White Saviors.

Taxpayer cost for a federal holiday is $818 million – not including the military or Postal Service. Annual reparations instead: scholarships, schools, food, housing, medical, jobs. Politicians don't think it through. Enjoy your holiday.

Since it behooved a party’s pandering, we now refer to Juneteenth as one of the most important anniversaries in our nation’s history. Please , show me where you celebrated this prior to 2019. And before I get attacked, I am not an Orange man good guy or minority hater. At all

“a creeping process of emancipation where the federal government is now finally taking firm stands” This “creeping process” is still creeping ever so slowly.

kenjeong I am so sick of hearing about it, boy they can't let anything go, yes slavery was bad, but there were black slave owners and white slaves too, we would have a holiday but we have to go to work to support the ones who celebrate Juneteenth

FACT CHECK: the anniversary of the spreading of the news of the Emancipation Proclamation to Texas is not one of the most important dates in American history. That’s why most of the country never heard of this obscure historical footnote until recently.

“Nevertheless, Black Americans found a way to continue to celebrate and lift each other up.” This👏🏾 is👏🏾 💯👏🏾 true👏🏾 The reason we stay hopeful!!✊🏾Nevertheless… Still… JuneTeenth2021

My grandmother lived in Texas and we visited every summer in the 1960’s. When I asked what Juneteenth was, my mother’s explanation was that it was the day that the parks were opened to black people. Period. I’m glad this date and what it means is finally being honored.

It would be helpful to tell America how this holiday works? BBQ? Church? Presents? This was handled poorly by POTUS

Didn’t learn about Juneteenth in school. WTF

There are two African-Americans and two indigenous Americans here...Can you point them out? Tuscaloosa LITERALLY means Black Warrior in Choctaw (Chata) language.

The end of slavery is a thing to be cherished but in many ways, this ending was just the first step in the fight for equality. Look around and you will see that the fight to end racism continues often with a step forward and then two steps back.

Bullshit.

Juneteenth is a complex day. In the context of human history, it is one of the highest points of civilization. How many historical examples are there of a whole nation freeing their slaves because it was wrong to enslave others?
