As a liberal Democrat, I don't understand the need for this. Teach history. I was taught the effects of slavery 30 years ago. If more facts have been discovered since then, teach those too. Why the need for a new name and crusade?
There will always be people who think the world is fine as it is because it has worked fine for them as it is. They are not interested in all the things that are swept under the rug, because keeping track of history and truth is a lot of work. People want things to be simple.
