Banning police from military equipment would mean no guns, no tasers and no body armor. My best friend that's a cop got saved by his body armor. He got shot twice in the chest when doing a traffic stop. I guess WA don't want any cops. I guess they want Wild west times again.
Hopefully these changes are more than just words
For everyone outside of WA, please help us bring attention to the Manuel Ellis case. These bills are great buts we've waited over a year for answers about a police custody death almost identical to George Floyd's. They'll address anything BUT that here in Tacoma.

The lesser evil specializes in violence and expects it's a solution. It's stopgap. Threats and lies are also violence, like foreplay. That's the tool kit.

The ban on military equipment is such a symbolic gesture. How many deaths have been caused by military equipment? You want to change things? Stop hiring cowboys, people who lose their mind under stress and people who have no empathy. They're the ones causing all the deaths.
'These laws must now be enforced. That's up to police and prosecutors, judges and juries, administrators and adjudicators. And it's up to us,'
Hope other states follow.

Banning military equipment takes away armored vehicles and some body armor. Perhaps people find these large armored vehicles scary, but they serve an important purpose.
Quick! For people who read the bills: how many provide *more* funding for police?

NPR Cookie Consent and ChoicesMy children were trapped under the rubble, crying for me but I was also buried — I couldn't do anything to help them I feel so bad for these businesses that now have to have these awkward enounters with folks who are sometimes belligerent. Must I remind the entire nation youve not yet reached herd immunity, the world is bigger then America, theres variants, and kids are not yet vaccinated, also pathogens still exist.
