What about chronic pain patients? With this new loosening of restrictions, will doctors prescribe opioids more to effectively treat their pain? Or do chronic pain patients continue to suffer? Because your article only talks about becoming addicted to opioids.

Until society removes the stigma from addiction and allows people to privately and without judgement deal with their problem humanely without destroying their reputation, which entails accessing treatments to deal with the problem, we will never get a grip on this dilemma.
