I'm so curious why NPR reporters did not say the attacker was a Black man, on the air or here. NPR is always very diligent about this classification. What is your editorial guideline about when to point out race/ethnicity and when to refrain?

All the other networks were able to identify the suspect. CBS News (CBSNews) Tweeted: A 65-year-old Asian woman was beaten in New York City. The same day, an Asian man was left unconscious after an attack on the subway.
I couldn’t read the rest of the news! It is heartbreaking. What now? Should we lose our hope in the people now? Where did all the good people go? Security people of the buildings just watched while she was being attacked and closed the door! I don’t know what to say!!
The sad part of the attack was the victims age. Can't imagine that a black man is the perp. I read yesterday that people of color & Asian Americans would become a voting bloc.
