Carjacking is one of the only ways to steal vehicles that have microchipped keys. Also, increasing sentences for juvenile suspects will not prevent them from participating in the activity. They don't understand consequence yet.

Had both my cars stolen in a safe neighborhood in Colorado Springs, Oct. 2019. 18 year old male, 17 y.o. female, 16 y.o. female. 18 y.o. would steal cars then leave them around town and rent them in exchange for money and drugs

Economic hardship and joblessness breeds crime. Maybe our government should rethink the measly support it has given to people for this past year while other competent countries have been taking care of their people with monthly income checks and protections.

After the 2008 economic crash people looked around and thought that because crime didn’t rise right away that that we were good. Everything we’re seeing today is the result of the neoliberal economic policies promoted by the republicans since the 1970s. Inequality leads 2 crime.
