Boeing reported nearly $12 billion in losses in 2020, a record number, as the pandemic depressed demand for new airplanes. One industry analyst said the company is 'in the worst shape it's ever been in.'

Didn’t at least two of their planes crash before the pandemic?

Let them fail or innovate to find new and better ways to earn business. Or have the federal government bail them out again, in which case none of you better ever complain about socialism ever again.

Imagine the money they be saving if they invested more in efficient designs and technologies. Instead of just always pocketing the money.

Good

Which is why it’s new slogan is, “Boeing, Boeing, Gone!”

Here we go more bailouts and hype that air travel is safe.

I sure hope their executives haven’t lost any salary or perks............

Maybe don’t cut corners and rush production for the sake of more and more profits?

If you fly, going forward, you’ll be flying in their Max 737 - under a different monicker, of course. Their carelessness and greed killed not only hundreds of innocent passengers but their own pilots and staff.

Bailout!

Ya, well maybe they shouldn't have rushed putting bigger engines on an old airframe instead of designing from the ground up. They cut corners and bullied regulators and people died. I have less than zero sympathy for them.

The pandemic can be an opportunity. Passengers have always wanted more legroom and better width. Babies don’t want to be judged for crying. So why not redesign capsule spacing so it’s also pandemic friendly and charge slightly higher than economy? Seed4Tomorrow

Lol

Pull up your own bootstraps ...Boeing's actual recent profits: 2019: $4.5B 2018: $19.7B 2017: $17.4B

Have they tried bringing their own lunch to work? You can save a few hundred bucks a month that way.

Maybe CEO should not be paid $11million and definitely not the additional $7mil for 737max

Boeing 737 Max 🤬

Maybe they should get better jobs. Pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

“The flight data then revealed that, as suspected, on both flights an AOA failure had activated MCAS, causing the nose-down movements”

Turns out not properly training employees and skimping on hardware and software development negatively impacts a company.

Boeings 737 is the flying Edsel of the day. Wow such terrible mismanagement. Did the Execs hand over their bonuses? Now would be the time for Elon Musk to swoop in & pickup talented workers. Don't feel bad for them Boeing still gets US Govt handouts in huge Defense contracts.

This is what happens when the finance guy becomes CEO to ⬆️profits instead of the engineering long time employee who knows the core business & wants to make a better product. But hey that’s capitalism at its finest. BA will have to go bankrupt and restructure to figure this out.

shayne571 This 2012 essay has Boeing as an example of power ranger engineering

RUGODA

Boeing has been in a tailspin for years.

If the company saved money every year instead of giving the shareholders nice dividends, they have a nice rainy day fund

Thoughts and prayers.

What were the top execs' bonuses last year though? Did they have to take off one of the many 0's on the check? 😢

Did their 600 bucks not come in?

that’s what Boeing gets!!! Treat their workers like shit and forget about customer safety. That’s why everyone should fly Airbus

breaking it up would be the best thing for aviation, consumers, jobs, investors 737 vs 787/777 787 west coast vs 787 east coast rotorcraft az vs rotorcraft stl military west vs military east

Time to get rid of the Starbucks membership and stop eating avacado toast.

Yet all these companies will continue to finance the Republican Party...they bare responsibility for covid getting out of hand and spiraling the economy

they should cut back on the avocado toast then

Oh well. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps

They knowingly covered up flaws in planes that caused the death of hundreds of people, they should be out of businesses already.

thanks for this news

Maybe they should pull up their bootstraps and get a better job
