Millions of Americans have counted on platforms like Instacart, DoorDash or Uber as a job. And they're quickly finding themselves at the mercy of an algorithm — where the smallest tweak of the app is capable of upending their livelihoods.

Apps were created that way!!!

Caviar was an amazing brand. They treated the drivers very well. If Square knew that DoorDash was into unscrupulous activities like stealing tips, than why did they sell the brand to these thieves?

I drive for Lyft and it’s nice to make a little extra cash to help pay for bills!

livelihood? that's a bit much. First world problems 🙄

Instacart has a putrid rep for a reason. Some delivery drivers never show-up; some over charge for items you didnt order. Ever had the instacart guy try to extort $$? Or open your door to have them throw food from 2 feet away? Or deliver your order to the wrong address? I have.

I imagine the job numbers for FT work vs part timers is...illuminating.

You know, Instacart has been a great for me as I don’t live near a supermarket and don’t have a car so I use it regularly. What baffles me is the amount of people who don’t tip their delivery man/woman, but they should also be paid faily as well.

It is time for a nation wide labor strike. EVERYONE who makes less then $20 per hour should strike for 60 days starting on Black Friday. The working poor are being RAPED by corporate America.

“Gig economy” is not sustainable

*clears throat* DO SOMETHING THATS WORTH SOMETHING. Anybody can deliver food, develop real world skills and find a stable job. People expect to live and pay a mortgage delivery pizzas

I rather goto the store actually.
