United States Headlines News

Local news outlets are dying. Libraries are going through a lot of change too. Could they help each other? One Colorado town is considering an experiment: A tax district to fund a newsroom and a 'maker space' for community journalists at the library.

LynnArditi The nytimes conduct recently is a good example of why news outlets are dying.

News outlets need to quit line for stuff and then maybe will be able to believe them

1/2 Public Libraries may present different personalities: small/large towns, campus towns; K-12 elementary population; new immigrants; retirees; mothers w/toddlers. Good thing about them all is you can own more than one library card! (regional, county, local, conditional)

With the amount of fake news and cyberattacks to online media, I feel certain libraries will actually become more valuable in the near future

26th ward alderman maldanodo has a couple of prime realestate locations for his offices. I'm always curious as to why he doen't fund one of the local libraries or other public spaces w/ plenty of empty space to accommodate his corrupt political activities.

Communities that prioritize libraries are prioritizing knowledge, the most valuable commodity in the world. You can tell that someone is truly braindead when they have contempt for a library.

Why go thru all of this? Put the brakes on! We have become too complicit with our traditions. Ppl want to wear what they would put on to do the laundry to work! Don't believe all seeming changes are in the name of progress. Electronic news should be secondary to published news!

Cut to the chase: it's publicly funded and controlled media. We need less of that, not more. Are you reading this, NPR?

Oh look... is trying to bill itself as 'non-partisan'. How cute. Freakonomics what is the statistical probability that over 90% of a person's actions are either 'right' or 'wrong'? Asking for are friend (POTUS44 and POTUS )

I LOVE this!

Local news is dying because, like , they use mainstream media info that is so far left that people just can't stomach it any more. Brush up your resume.

Libraries are obsolete...however, Google's etc credibility is being questioned...especially in politically charged situations.

I really like this idea. Considering of all of the community training/education and media distribution local libraries do now, this is right up their alley.

Actions have consequences. Journalists in meltdown

Local lib news outlets are dying. Good riddance.

What are libraries, says local journalist Scott Converse, if not nonpartisan, nonprofit sources of trusted information? 'Librarians are badasses. You do not mess with the librarian.'

When is your government funding going to be eliminated? Your propaganda should be funded solely by TheDemocrats whom you serve.

That's Socialism

Love this idea!!

Has merit. We all know that corporate media is a lost cause.
