NOAA's top scientist says he's investigating why the agency's leadership endorsed President Trump's false claim that Alabama was in the path of Hurricane Dorian, after meteorologists from the National Weather Service publicly pushed back on it.

The radio report started off starting this was part of the debate on science. It's not: is an attack on science for political ends. Please try to get this right.

DysfunctFelines I’m sure Trump or his thugs called NOAA and threatened to fire people if they didn’t agree with him. After all, isn’t that what he did on his ridiculous reality tv show? This man is unchecked!

I bet there was money involved or if not, stupidly! Either way it was ridiculous because alerting people is much more important than one man’s pride

It was NOT a false claim. Look at the map. You sick, twisted, hate mongering partisan twits should all be dragged out of your holes and prosecuted for libel.

MadisonSiriusXM Answer: threats with a dash of blackmail. The usual mafia tactics.

Dear NPR..plesse check footage from your sister news channel CNN . Even they said AL was in the path...so before you say 'false claim' make sure your messaging is consistent across your other outlets like CNN and MSNBC. Good try. Maybe 2 overeducated Trump haters liked it.

the chaos this president has caused in every corner of our country simply because he will never admit he's wrong, even to the point of altering a weather map & falsifying a National Weather Service forecast-a violation of federal law..seize him. ImpeachTrumpNow It will get worse

ErinMayovsky They just wanted to kiss his ass 🤢🤮

I don't know why I didn't think of this before... Delta allowed passengers in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina & North Carolina to change flights for free because of Dorian. Has anyone checked to see if a single flight was changed to Alabama? Dothan is in the 'Sharpied' area.

Please let's move on already....this is irrelevant

tRUMP is a malignant tumor on the a*s of America.

I’d say NOAA should step aside for a while. Let’s just lay it in trump’s lap. He’s so committed to using that sharpie to clear things up let him have a stab at hurricane predicting. Or, bewilder ross can shut his yap and move NOAA to Interior where science is a thing. Vote.

For eight long dark years millions upon millions of us held our noses as bo, biden & company stunk up the place. President Trump has brought much needed fresh air to Washington, he makes it look like past presidents didn't even try to advocate for the American people. KAG2020
