planetmoney Real Income grew at 1.35% from 1965 to 2000. Avg was $50K in 65 and $80K in 00. Should’ve been $100K by 2017 but was only $83K. Until we see Real Income surpass $100K+, households will still feel squeezed and uncertain. IMHO of course.

NPR Choice pageI’m curious, how do you decide what stories are national news as opposed to news covered simply by local affiliates? The article doesn’t help me understand why this is a story NPR is covering. Are boat fires astronomically rare? The Ventura County Fire Department said firefighters responded to calls about flames aboard the dive boat at approximately 3:28 a.m. local time. Santa Cruz Island is about 18 miles from the mainland and about 60 miles west of Los Angeles. This is incredibly bad, most likely the passengers were in the bunks below deck. 🙏🏼
