The peaceful rise of China as an economic superpower should entitle that they honor the sovereign law system of Hong Kong, which would allow its citizens to stay close to their families. Hong Kong plight may be hard, given China does have a supercomputer.
Oh how America longs for this kind of unity . . .
From a Chinese point of view, they can't allow the Hong Kong protestors a 'win'. Hong Kong has a population of less than 10 million. China has a population of more than a Billion. And, lest we forget, Hong Kong got democracy 2 years before Brits departed!!!
