United States Headlines News

In the 1930s, Filipinos were targeted with violence by white men who accused them of taking U.S. jobs. For Denise Guerra –– a second-generation Filipino American –– that history is key to making sense of a long-held family secret: her grandfather's story.

Why does NPR create more anger and resentment in this country by promoting false stories like this that place blame on white men? Sounds like a producer is trying to be overly-politically correct once again.

I cannot find a single source that verifies this statement. In fact, it appears to be the opposite. “In 1930, a mob of about 500 white men and youth opened fire at a dance hall popular with the local Filipino community”

so they have to produce stuff !? shocker

Also, read the fucking article.

I have a feeling there is a lot of bots, and also no one actually reas the article. Lots of angry white people over hearing about how white people were not always the greatest to non whites through history.

If you want to go by stats, August always been the worst month for stocks , always.

Great story.

So the memo from the nytimes editor went out nationally. Header: Beat Trump Theme: White man BAD, Everything is racist. Plan: Pool all pull our grievances, because realDonaldTrump has hijacked the white blue collar workers and we can’t win without them”

Is Trumps economy so good that NPR is reaching back to 1930 to dig up news stories?

We have just learned the nytimes agenda shift to racism but ‘s is well known - cause strife though division.

The “white men” targeting Filipinos were probably Democrats. Throughout history, from slavery to the KKK to Jim Crow, it was Dems who oppressed PoC.

NPR is obsessed with race.. yesterday Ari called rock music “a bunch of white dudes”..
