NPR Choice pagethe US has a pretty low percentage of all people who have a kidney transplant like this (i think 2 percent). the issue is that we have a huge population of people who only have one kidney. Let's be realistic. Free or cheap very expensive meds for the person who was dying but for life saving surgery? Or cheap antibiotics for your brother in law? We are not going to get it all. Sorry. Hope you've lived well and are ready for the next life.
