When you read this story , remember as well the distributors paid fines for lax oversight of opioid distribution in the same time mfg were selling the hell out of them. You probably frequent these drugstores. WSJ 2012

Now those who need them won’t be able to get them.

Don’t forget those who actually need pain meds & don’t abuse them. They’re out there & many have pain management drs; my bro-in-law who sees an oncology PM dr. When u have 4.5 stage, parotid & lymph nodes removed, leaving exposed nerve endings & all treatment side effects.... :(

Nothing will happen. Follow the money.See which Senators, congressman, own shares in these companies.

S0 J&J has to pay $17 billion, where does it go? Will the people who’s lives were destroyed by these awful drugs receive any compensation for their “marketed” addiction? How about the families who suffered? Will they get anything? Yeah, probably not....

Let's end this Opioid crisis and help those effected. It is sad to hear and see the crisis this has made. Also, let's go after these BIG pharmaceuticals ruining our country and these BIG corps funding them.

Oklahoma will put the blame on anyone that is not them. Addiction treatment is too expensive the trumpeters in my state. I’m not defending j&j. Just saying that this state is terrible when it is coming to human rights.

NadjaRaina it’s happening

Best of luck Oklahoma!

NPR Choice pageNo one is offering help. That’s the thing. No one is offering. Without Hospice I’d be completely alone. As the caregiver for my elderly father in law with dimentia, it's hard to accept help when it's offered. I don't want him to think I'm tired of taking so I 'called someone'. So I soldier through because it's my duty not just to care for him but to make sure he feels loved. So many truths in this article. I was the caregiver for my mother and father and now for my husband. Some days are exhausting and you feel guilty if you express your mental and physical fatigue. It’s important to have a good listening friend.
