Pharmaceutical companies don't care about sick poor people so of course struggling Nations don't have access. There's no reason for it to cost up to $500+/mon in the US. Dr. Banting, the discoverer, gave away the patent for $1 saying 'Insulin belongs to the world, not to me'.
