A good start to addressing income disparity and fairness that matters... mainstreet in the loop!

oughta be retroactive and include SEARS

oughta be nationwide for every company.

Now medium size companies will hire only 99 and pay overtime... then go w/ temps and independent contractors... hate the game not the players...

Why not 10 weeks?

So if a company is about to capsize......NJ wants to make sure it sinks!!

Can’t give you money... I don’t have

Bull

And if an employee quits without notice how about if they are subject to a 10 thousand dollar fine. Obviously most of you have never owned your own business.

How about require any and all pay cuts to be taken by the CEOs and the board of directors before the workers. They, after all, are the group of people who led the company into its current mess.

That is a great way to have employers only keep people for a couple years. No careers here folks.

Lots of ppl see laws like this & raising min wages as a huge back-fire & blame the laws/governors. Where as the blame should be placed on big businesses for their constant strangle holds on low-level workers & doing everything they can to not drop a dime in the upper fields. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Why use a picture of Toys R Us? They've been out of business now for several years.

I'd get 6 months if I lived in NJ.

A week? Should be a month!!

That would have come in handy for me in 2018.

More destructive liberal laws, not supported by economics and even basic MATH!

In other news: Business with 110 employees cuts 11 jobs and freezes hiring.

And watch now how this feel-good idea skids into the wall by way of employers keeping people on part-time status.

Every state needs to do this.

Yeah, but does it apply to NJ layoffs?.. - New Jersey has enacted a law that requires businesses with 100 or more full-time employees to pay their workers one week of severance pay for every year of service during Mass layoffs

That’s still not enough. You give a company years of your life and it equates to a week whenever they decide they have too many workers 🥴but it’s better than nothing

How about doing any layoffs and more than a week

Most companies already do this. Way to make yoself feel important doh.

Oh hey, my company is based out of Jersey. Ten weeks severance pay would be quite nice.

Caring for my husband at home in his final days was my tremendous honor and privilege. And it was excruciatingly difficult. Hospice care was of some help, but the majority of the work fell to me.
